GEORGE G. CHMIEL
George’s professional journey is unique as his experiences range from over a decade on Wall St. to being a full-fledged entrepreneur and an accomplished distance runner. Raised in Annapolis, MD and having graduated from Boston College, George is currently a founding partner and the director of business development for Capstone Companies, the largest privately owned multi-family brokerage in America. Here he heads up the company's national expansion and new product development.
Prior to Capstone, George spent the first 11-years of his career with Merrill Lynch in capital markets & derivative sales. There he grew Merrill’s northeast Structured Investments group to over $1.1B in annual gross sales. In 2015, George left the corporate world and moved to San Diego where he’s built a diversified portfolio of small business interests in the hospitality, fitness, entertainment, and consumer products space.
Outside the office, George’s biggest passion is endurance racing and pushing his body’s physical, mental and emotional limits. To date, George has completed over 50 sanctioned marathons and 17 100+ miles races, including one on all seven continents. In 2017, he completed a solo 3,006-mile transcontinental run across America in 93 running days. And this past August, against major odds, he helped lead a climbing expedition with 14 vets and 4 amputees to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
George always says life is about two things - relationships &
experiences - doing memorable & impactful things with the people
you love. This expedition will epitomize that philosophy.
